Firearms Transfers

If you're purchasing a firearm from an online auction or out-of-state dealer, you’ll need to complete a Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer. Federal law requires all firearms to be shipped to a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer (FFL), like us.

Here’s how the process works:

1. Provide Seller Information:
   We’ll need the name and email address of the seller so we can send them a copy of our FFL. Please note, we do not have a fax machine, so email is required.
    
2. Sending FFL Information:
   Once we have the seller's contact information, we will send them an email with:
    
   • Our FFL information
      
   • The description of the firearm (and auction/item number if applicable)
      
   • The name of the person receiving the firearm
      

1. Receiving the Firearm:
   When your firearm arrives, you will need to come to our shop during regular business hours to complete a background check.
    
   • What to bring: Your Texas driver’s license or Texas ID card, and if applicable, your Texas LTC (License to Carry).
      

1. Background Check:
   You must pass the background check to receive your firearm. If you do not pass the background check, you will need to make arrangements to have the firearm returned to the seller.
    
2. Time Limit:
    
   • 90 Days: You have 90 days from the date of arrival to pick up your firearm. After this period, the firearm becomes the property of Bridgeport Guns and Ammo, Inc..
      
   • Transfer Fees:
      
     • $35 per firearm if picked up within 30 days
        
     • $50 per firearm if picked up after 30 days
